Hi! My name is Leanne McLaughlin. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2006 and am a registered member of the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers. For nearly two decades, I worked primarily in healthcare, with over 15 years of my experience focused on supporting Indigenous and Metis women, their children and their families. I have had the privilege of supporting people through both challenging times and times of growth.
I believe life writes on us in different ways, impacting how we relate to the world and our place in it, therefore my approach is grounded in respect, compassion, collaboration and cultural understanding. I believe in walking alongside individuals and communities, honoring cultural strengths, traditions and stories, while on the path to wellness. This approach allows for seeing each person in the context of their family, community, and culture, supporting wellness in ways that respect the whole person.
I draw on my lived experiences to bring empathy and insight to my work, which allows me to connect with clients in an authentic way, fostering trust, understanding, and to build a meaningful therapeutic relationship.
