Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Group

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Group

Are you easily emotionally overwhelmed?

Do you often find yourself frustrated by what most people consider everyday simple tasks?

Do you often find yourself outside of your window of tolerance? Or do you not know what a window of tolerance is?

As a local counsellor, I’ve run into many clients who are struggling and find themselves on long waiting lists to get in for services as they cannot afford private services. Or their insurance will only cover so many sessions, so they cannot afford as many sessions as they may need to overcome their struggles.

The counsellors here at Blue Rose Child and Family are not able to simply sit idly by while others are struggling. So we’ve decided to offer a group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program.

To get in on this group, you will need to do an intake where we will discuss why you are looking to join us, and what you are needing and to assess if this group is appropriate for you and your needs.

The group will meet weekly, to learn and practice new CBT skills.

Cognitive Behavioural Skills include

- mindfulness,

- learning how to check in to identify how distressing certain things are for you,

- Distress Tolerance Skills,

- learning how to describe and “ride” emotional waves,

- Decreasing Emotional Suffering, and

- Interpersonal Skills as well.

These groups will be facilitated by trained counsellors, and will be focusing on learning and practising skills.
